Emilio loves a challenge and lives to galvanise change, driving success. With a career spanning over two decades, the majority in the healthcare sector in Executive Director and CIO roles, he possesses a track record of delivering multiple, complex, end-to-end transformations and spearheading cutting-edge eHealth initiatives. During his recent tenure as Executive Director, Digital Health at Monash, he led and was accountable for successfully implementing an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) across seven facilities. He then extended the capabilities into specialised areas, including a state-of-the-art digital footprint for the Victorian Heart Hospital. He is motivated by leaving impressive and lasting transformations that not only benefit the organisations themselves but also the people they serve.

A foundation in IT, immense determination and an innate curiosity to find out how things work ensures that, through precise inquiry, Emilio helps companies meticulously craft future-focused solutions. Given his experience in the healthcare sector, he offers a unique insight into the challenges, political dynamics, and regulatory intricacies, as well as funding constraints. His career also encompassed experience in the financial sector, affording him a distinctive perspective that unlocks previously undiscovered solutions.

Born in Australia with Chilean parents, Emilio speaks Spanish and thinks of himself as a global citizen. He has travelled extensively both for pleasure and work across Europe, the Americas, the Persian Gulf and Asia including Japan, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. This experience has enabled him to navigate distinct business cultures and utilise unique solutions based on these insights.

A firm believer in keeping strong in mind and body, Emilio enjoys keeping fit and playing tennis. Music is another passion of his and spans Jazz and Classical to R&B and Rap, and in his spare time, he restores old vintage Hi-Fi equipment (Instagram @insidemyhifi). He also shares his busy life with a Jack Russell called Benji, dutifully employed as his Chief Mischief Maker.
